US v. Mexico; Mexico Winning with the help of Obama and Congress

It seems Obama is giving Mexico $310 Million in accordance to the Merida Initiative (help combat the drug cartels etc), but he will only give $135 Million for our border security/protection.  Why?

Lets compare what the funds will go towards.  Let's start with Mexico since they are getting the bigger sum...it really should be good!
Mexico’s $310 million (On top of the millions already spent/given) will go towards black hawk helicopters, communication equipment, surveillance aircraft, military and law enforcement training.

The US $135 million will go towards: 1,200 National Guard to be divided up between TX, AZ, NM and CA and 22 miles of fence repair.

The most National Guard personnel that will be at the AZ border at one time (for 120 days) will 500 and some change. It will start with a hundred, tier up and max at something like 524…that will sustain for 120 days, then it will start to taper off again.

In “defense” (I can’t believe I am even saying that word in connection to Obama) of Obama; the Merida Initiative was signed by Congress in 2008; HOWEVER, one would think that a President would allocate at least double that to secure and protect our own border.

Simply providing aid to Mexico and Central American countries without amplifying things on our side; won’t do much. Why is Congress so STUPID! This is not just Obama’s doing; this was in fact done while Bush was in office; under a Democratic rule though.

I hear today that Obama is now pushing for $500 million.....lets wait and see what happens.

Puppy Mills are a disgrace to the human race.  They exsist simply for the love of Money.  They are horrible disgusting places where dogs are bred over and over again while being kept in deplorable conditions.  It is the most inhumane treatment of domestic animals imaginable and it is simply unacceptable.

Please help get the word out on this travestry to animals and help us put an end to mills.  This show will be a great stepping stone to get us to that end.  It will also be a wonderful learning opportunity for so many who have no idea this even happens.

The Question of Birthright Citizenship

The Question of Birthright Citizenship

This is a great article regarding the debate over Anchor Children. I too was under the impression that the 14th amendment allowed the children of illegal aliens to be US citizens if they are born on US soil....I was proven to be wrong and I couldn't be happier about it.

Abolishing the notion that illegals can have children here will "hopefully", but most probably deter many of those who come here and have babies.
The article states it perfectly at the end so be sure to read it all the way through.

Fair Pay for Illegals? Seriously?

So you come here illegally and then bitch about not getting paid fairly?  Amazing!

Worse than that is Hilda Solis" the Secretary of Labor: She's running an add that "whether documented or undocumented" workers are to be paid according to FLSA.

REALLY! What the hell?

OK, maybe this is worse than that: Obama wants to use border security as a political tactic to get what he wants.....yeah, I'd say that man is looking out for the little guy.

What do I think about McChrystal's resignation and the appointment of Petreaus? Well, fine.  Do I think he should have resigned; not really, but who's to say I am not in the military so I can't pretend to know what that did in terms of his leadership ability.  Personally, I don't think it did anything but boost it.
Obama now totes Petraeus as qualified and competent and he has "complete confidence" in him.  Seriously? When did that happen.  Seems it wasn't that long ago you felt differently.

I have no faith in this President and I hope come November that Americans will stand up and say WE WILL BE HEARD! Obama is not our KING!

Take away his power.  Get this country back to what it is intended to be.  Where people are free to live and work.  Where people are not forced by the Government to enter into a contract with another private entity, where we are not taxed to the point of poverty, where our borders are secure, where our leader does not bow or apologize to foreign countries or rulers for "his" (stated lightly in reference to Obama) obnoxious country, were our President respects our rule of law and upholds the Constitution.

We do not need a President to "fundamentally change" America, we need a President that will stand strong against our enemies, encourage and allow private enterprise to grow and prosper and ensure that government is as it was intended to be a protector of this country, not a regulator over every inch of our lives.

God Bless America....I hope we can get her back.

California Penal Code....

As it pertains to Immigration laws similar to that of Arizona.  I don't make this up. It is as real as you are.

Calif.Penal Code: Immigration on a local level

834b. (a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully

cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization

Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is

suspected of being present in the United States in violation of

federal immigration laws.

(b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected

of being present in the United States in violation of federal

immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the

following:

(1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen

of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent

resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time

or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of

immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not

be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and

place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding

documentation to indicate his or her legal status.

(2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien

who is present in the United States in violation of federal

immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal

justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or

leave the United States.

Seems to me Mexico needs to sue California as well as Arizona.  What crock of crap.
Mexico is suing Arizona over their immigration law.  How ridiculous is that!  The fact that our own President probably supports it makes it even worse.

I know there are other states with similar laws.. Oklahoma for one and now Nebraska just amped up the voltage on restricting illegal aliens.....Not to mention the biggest one of all...our Federal Law.  Maybe Mexico should sue the Government because obviously they do not like our Immigration Laws...or better yet; lets sue THEM.

AWESOME NEWS! Judge blocked...

I realize that many people will see this differently, but personnally I believe this is the best thing possible for our people on the gulf.

"Federal judge in New Orleans, Louisiana, blocks six-month federal moratorium on deepwater drilling in Gulf."

This is very good news! It gets people who are relying on these job's to get back to work; which is ALWAYS a good thing!

The gulf residents have been hurt enough.  The moratorium added insult to injury and this was a very good call by the Federal Judge!

I'm Tired...

Robert A. Hall is the actor who plays the coroner on CSI if you watch that show.
****CORRECTION: This was not written by the same Robert Hall the Actor. According to Snopes they have similar names and therefore that is the confusion.  See the snopes report here:
Snopes: I'm tired...
Everything else is apparently true.  I posted it for the content because it is true for me (although I'm not 63). I very well could have written it.
Note that per Snopes this was written on Mr. Hall's blog in 2009... LONG before the AZ law brought Illegal Immigration to the forefront.******************

This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the United States of America .

"I'm 63 and Im Tired"

by Robert A. Hall

I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.

I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela .

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois.

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement- handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate.

Balance - a good one

Balance

God was missing for six days.
Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him, resting on the seventh day..
He inquired, "Where have you been?"
God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds,
"Look, Michael. Look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, and I've put life on it.. I'm going to call it Earth and it's
going to be a place to test Balance."
"Balance?" inquired Michael,
"I'm still confused."

God explained, pointing to different parts of earth.
"For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth,
while southern Europe is going to be poor.
Over here I've placed a continent of white people, and over there is a
continent of black people.

Balance in all things."

God continued pointing to different countries..
"This one will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."
The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a land area and said, "What's that one?"
"That’s the State of Texas , the most glorious place on earth.
There are beautiful mountains, rivers and streams, lakes, forests, hills, and plains. The people from the State of Texas are going to be handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel the world.
They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers of peace, and producers of good things."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked,

"But what about balance, God? You said there would be balance.."
God smiled, "There’s Washington, DC.
Wait till you see the idiots I put there."

Joke for the day; not for the Illegal Immigrant sympathizers

WARNING: if you sympathize with illegal aliens then please do not read this.  I thought it was funny, you might not.  Thank you.

The blue pigeon

The mayor of Phoenix was very worried about a plague of pigeons in Phoenix . He could not remove the pigeons from the city. All of

Phoenix was full of pigeon poop. The people of Phoenix could not walk on the sidewalks, or drive on the roads. It was costing a fortune to keep the streets and sidewalks clean.

One day a man came to City Hall and offered the Mayor a proposition. 'I can rid your beautiful city of its plague of pigeons without any cost to the city. But, you must promise not to ask me any questions, or you can pay me one million dollars to ask one question.

The mayor considered the offer briefly and accepted the free proposition.

The next day the man climbed to the top of City Hall, opened his coat, and released a blue pigeon. The blue pigeon circled in the air and flew up into the bright blue Arizona sky. All the pigeons in Phoenix saw the blue pigeon and gathered up in the air behind the blue pigeon. The Phoenix pigeons followed the blue pigeon as she flew southward out of the city.

The next day the blue pigeon returned completely alone to the man atop City Hall.

The Mayor was very impressed. He felt the man and the blue pigeon had performed a wonderful miraculous feat to rid Phoenix of the plague of pigeons.

Even though the man with the pigeon had charged nothing, the mayor presented him with a check for 1 million dollars and told the man that, indeed, he did have a question to ask and even though they had agreed to no fee and the man had rid the city of pigeons, he decided to pay the 1million just to get to ask ONE question.

The man accepted the money and told the mayor to ask his ONE question.

Do you think the Mayor is going to ask how the blue pigeon led all the pigeons away?

Do you think the Mayor is going to ask where all the pigeons went?

Do you think He is going to ask where the man got the blue pigeon?

Nooooooo!

The mayor asked:

"Do you have a blue Mexican?"

LOL!!!!!!!  Yup, I think it's funny after reading it again.

What you can do and what I'm SICK of

First order of business:  You, the American people, need to get your voting skills honed and come November you need to get out there and take back this country!
Get the left liberal Democrats out of office and replace them with thinking conservatives!  I'd say it doesn't matter if the conservative is a Democrat or Republican, but I don't believe there is a conservative Democrat out there... it is a mythical creature.

Secondly, but not lastly, I am SICK to DEATH of the bullshit and lies coming from that guy in the White House.  He bold faced lied to us on 6/15/10, he thinks we are stupid and he is out to ruin this country.
It was sickening last night to watch his address from the Oval Office.  At the end, I could see how it pained him to say God Bless the United States of America.  He damn near choked on the words.  This man needs to go and needs to go NOW!

The BP oil disaster... first off Mr. "President", it is NOT a damn OIL SPILL!  It is a disaster born out of another disaster where hard working people lost their lives. This happened due to a lack of responsibility from both government regulators and those in charge at BP....I suppose it was the "we'll look the other way BP since you contribute so much to our liberal causes".  That is what sealed the fate of those killed.

Do I want BP to pay and be held accountable... You bet your ass I do.  What I don't want to see is the oil drilling shut down  (deep water or shallow) for good or for BP to go bankrupt because the government reached in and grabbed them by the throat and strangled them with the "fund" ... what a load of crap that is!  Government has NO right to make the demands on BP that they are.  I hope BP stands up for itself and takes a good hard look at who they consider to be friends.

If BP goes under have you considered the impact that will have on us and on the people directly affected by the disaster?  Think about it for a minute and then tell me if you want to boycott BP.  Think about what the end result will be if BP goes bye bye.  I can tell you that it will not be good for ANYONE.  It will be very very bad.  You think it is bad now?  Just wait because if BP and other oil co. go down; we go down with them....sadly much to the delight of our current "president" and his cronies.

I am all for Green Energy, clean energy and a lessening dependence on oil both foreign and domestic, but the reality is that we are where we are and there is nothing out there that can take the place (even on a small level) of what we need oil for and until there is the fact remains that we NEED drilling, we NEED companies like BP and we NEED to ensure they are under the tightest scrutiny to ensure that safety measures work, back up plans are in place and will actually work and that there is a specific detailed plan of action for the worse case scenario times 10.

Until we are able to decrease our dependency on oil there is no place for us to go.  So get after it and lets find a way to decrease our oil need.  Until that time we better be damn sure we have our arms around the oil drilling and safety of it.

Driving down oil drilling will be cutting our nose off despite our face.
Think rationally, think clearly, leave emotions out of it.  Consider the big picture, the consequences and the devastating impact on this entire country the next time you scream for the death of BP and off shore drilling.

Mr. Illegal the rest of the story....

Get a load of these numbers:

In 2005 - there were 55,322 incarcerated illegal aliens studied by the Government Accountability Office
97% had more than one arrest and an astonishing 26% had over eleven arrests
Each illegal alien in the study averaged 13 offenses and 24% of those offenses were for drug crimes. About 12% were for murder, robbery, assault and sexually related crimes. 21% of offenses were immigration offenses.

Now, look at this information:

According to ICE; at the end of fiscal year 2008, there were 557,762 fugitive alien cases left unsolved.

California's border counties incurred $79 million in emergency care for illegal aliens
Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimated the medical cost of treating illegal immigrants in California in 2004 to be $1.5 billion. Today that figure would be much higher.

I obtained this information from the following article:
Illegal Immigrants are Career Criminals

It says all I wanted to say for me.

Secure Communities...good or bad?

Protest of Secure Communities

so this is a pilot program and 19 out of 22 illegals identified were classified as level 1 offenders...also known as Rapists and murderers... People have a problem with this?  Oh, no its the fact that family and friends will be caught up in it.. you know, those hard working honest criminals.
So what they are saying is it is ok to deport high level criminals but those who are there for lessor crimes should not be deported....even though they are here illegally. Isn't that discrimination?  Isn't that what they are screaming at all the people who want secure borders; that we are racist and discriminating against them.
I suppose this means that its ok if you are illegal and only commit a crime like say a mugging or some such thing.  Personnally, if you are illegal and you go through our jails, you go back to your country after serving your time and paying a fine.  We shouldn't discriminate against the higher level of criminal.

They are also claiming that this is a racist thing...not sure how a fingerprint does that.  Every criminal gets finger printed no matter how minor the crime.  That is not racist.  Every fingerprint will be sent to ICE; that is not racist.
This arguement of theirs holds no water.

I fully support this action and I am not racist.  I am an American and I want our border secured! I want the illegals out and I'd like to see a slowing amount of incoming immigrants... I'll explain that in another post

Governor punches protester..humm..

Caught on tape: Governor punches Tea Party protester

Here is the story:
ALIPAC is issuing the following statement.

"The punch to Nathan Tabor's face in front of his wife and crying child was an assault on all Americans that value free speech and freedom to assemble. We call on President Obama to publicly speak out against this violence conducted by one of his supporters against his political opposition. We also call on the US Justice Department to file charges against Governor Spencer for violating Mr. Tabor's civil rights and violating the civil rights of all Tea Party supporters and Americans that wish to speak out against the President without fear of violent reprisals." -- William Gheen, President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) www.alipac.us

Activists are encouraged to call the White House at 202-456-1111 to demand that Obama publicly denounce the violence conducted by his supporter against his political opposition.

Jim Hoft of BigGovernment.com reports...

"On Tuesday June 8, the North Carolina Tea Party Patriots held a protest against government bailouts in front of Rep. Mel Watt's (D-N.C.) Greensboro office. During the protest a raging leftist goon, Governor Spencer, turned out, disrupted the protest, confronted the patriots, argued with them and then... He started throwing punches!
The whole thing was caught on tape.
The raging goon, Governor Spencer, slugged Nathan Tabor, a business owner and head of the Forsyth County Republican Party and a former candidate for senator.
Governor Spencer is a union organizer, a socialist and a black liberation activist. Spencer led the Greensboro K-Mart protests of 1995 and mobilized families, communities, and "the Pulpit Forum of Greensboro, a coalition of progressive clergy, to commit acts of civil disobedience."

ALIPAC Inside Scoop

According to information provided to ALIPAC...
Mr. Tabor was punched in the face in front of his wife and screaming 5 year old daughter (heard in the video). He went to the magistrate's office with police and a white magistrate issued an arrest warrant for Governor Spencer.

A black magistrate rescinded the arrest warrant and issued summons to appear in court to both Governor Spencer and Nathan Tabor despite the fact the responding officer testified he had seen the videos and that Mr. Tabor had committed no assault. The magistrates refused to view the videos.

A death at the border

So I am sure most of you have heard about the teenager killed at the border.  1st reports on the event made it sound like this was an innocent child caught in the cross fire.  Later reports indicate he was on the "most wanted" list for juveniles....
Mexican police crossed the border, picked something up and aimed rifles at US agents to scare them off....what is the governments response?  So far nothing.

Here is the article... well one of many:
Border shooting
"Damn them! Damn them!" sobbed Rosario Hernandez, sister of the dead teenager, at a wake in the family's two-room adobe house on the outskirts of Ciudad Juarez."

Yes, Damn them for throwing rocks at our agents, Damn them for coming across our border and DAMN the government for not stepping up.

"Mexican President Felipe Calderon said Tuesday that his government "will use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants.""

Protect the rights of MIGRANTS!  Mr. Calderon, you are a bloody idiot and who really gives a damn what you say, except that you just said that you will use all resources ... I assume that means military and policia, yes?  What will you protect them against exactly?  Protect them, shield them with rifles aimed at our Border Agents to ensure safe illegal passage into this country?  I suspect Mr. Calderon that you better prepare yourself for a fight.
Calderon needs to get his dictionary out because those who cross into this country illegally are not migrants.  To help you, here is a definition:

migrate - To relocate periodically from one region to another, usually according to the seasons; To change one's geographic pattern of habitation; To change habitations across a border; to move from one country or political region to another.

It makes me sick to my stomach to hear this idiot rant and rave about the AZ law when Mexico's laws on immigration are worse than anything the US ever came up with.
Mr. Calderon has announced to the world that he will protect his citizens who illegally come into this country.  Sounds to me like an invasion and a call to war.

Americans, stand up and defend your country.  This is not a war on foreign lands, this is right here on our soil.  Our make believe President will do nothing to stop this so it is up to you and me to do something about it.

Get ready for war because Mr. Calderon just declared it.

The Blantant Truth....Think before you act

The painful truth about the blantant disregard

Please see the link above.  As the most intelligent beings (some could argue against it and rightly so) the things we do to our companion animals is quite frankly disgusting.

I know and fully understand that things happen and hard choices have to be made, but there is a major misconception out there that if you drop your dog or cat at a shelter then they will go to a good home. Chances are that your beloved pet will die in 24 to 72 hours.
Over crowding at shelters forces them to “kill” to make room. The inflow of animals is greater than the outflow.

One way to combat this problem – Spay and Neuter your pets!

I hear the macho crap: but I can’t do that to my “Boy!” Wrong, you can and you should. Not only to save his life, but countless others one accidental pregnancy will produce and from that litter one maybe 2 more unplanned pregnancies and so on and so forth. Before you know it your one dog has led to 20 other puppies or kittens… 19 out of 20 who are likely to die without ever knowing a loving home.

The Other Victims of the Gulf oil disaster; What you can do!

Much is being said about the wild life in the Gulf being affected, in horrible ways, by the Gulf oil disaster.  The other side of that story is the domestic house pet....they too are now paying the price.  See below for a message from a Louisiana rescuer and please do what you can to help these innocent animals.

LA: Message from a Louisiana rescuer re big increase in surrendered pets due to oil disaster
Ms. Rocky Gates wrote 6/8:
Again the unseen, unheard victims of yet another tragedy...family pets. With the commercial fishing industry shut down, the oil industry shut down, sport fishing shut down and all of the businesses that support these industries suffering...family pets are being turned in to local animal controls by the dozens. Most of these facilities are high-kill so we know the fate of these poor animals. The parishes in and around New Orleans are yet again feeling the brunt of this latest disaster. Now is the time to consider taking in a southern dog. Unlike when Katrina hit and rescues offered to take in a couple of dogs and were told they had to take in large numbers or none...these shelters will gladly let any reputable, verifiable rescue take one or two dogs. You can contact me and I can put you in contact with the shelters that are starting to receive oil disaster victims.
