Thanking our soldiers

Thank you to all the soldiers who gave their lives so that we can live free.  You sacrifice is not forgotten.

Take today to live your life in honor of those who gave theirs.

Thank you to all the families who lost a soldier.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.

This is a great country.  Pay tribute to all of our military personnel and live free and live proud.

God Bless America, land that I love!

Champ gets his Angel Wings...

Meet Champ, he is a German Shepherd Dog who got his Angel Wings today due to stomach Cancer.  He was awaiting adoption at a Sanctuary/rescue.  It was a wonderful place, he was taken care of very well, but most of all Champ was loved.  Here is what his Adoption bio said:

Champ is a neutered male GSD, he has German registry papers and even
German shot records! This boy is the friendliest, sweetest GSD ever. He
gets along well with other dogs, would be good with adults or children. He was owner-surrendered due to killing a neighbor's goats.
Champ is a great companion for people and other dogs, but please, NO LIVESTOCK or cats.

I got the pleasure of meeting Champ in person...he was a stunning dog.  I had admired him from afar via his picture on the internet, but because I have a cat there was no way I could adopt him.  It broke my heart but I knew he had a good life where he was......not as good as a forever home but good nonetheless.

The loss of a animal companion is difficult at best, devestating at worst.  I am so so heartbroken that Champ has to leave this earth and I only met him once. Tears streamed down my face when I got the news that today would be the day he gets his Angel Wings.

It is amazing how your heart can hurt for a dog you barely knew.

Still think only mutts are what you will find available for adoption?

To my friends who loved him, who took care of him and who had the strength to set him free; I thank you and I love you.  Champ thanks you too and he'll be watching over you from above, thankful for the love he received at your hand..

RIP beautiful boy.

A position of neutrality....REALLY?!

Wisconsin Vet must remove flag after Memorial Day
Please read the article

The apartment complex where this Vet and his wife live has taken the position that in order to remain neutral and not offend anyone they have a company policy against flying of flags, including Old Glory, our own American Flag!

I quote: “a company policy that bans the display of flags, banners and political or religious materials.”

Last time I checked this was America, yes? Our flag is a symbol of the thing we hold most dear as a country; our Freedom, is it not?

The company said and I quote, “This policy was developed to insure that we are fair to everyone as we have many residents from diverse backgrounds," the statement read. "By having a blanket policy of neutrality we have found that we are less likely to offend anyone and the aesthetic qualities of our apartment communities are maintained."

“We have many residents from diverse backgrounds” ???? So?? This matters how exactly?

Again, last time I checked and I will have to go back and really make sure; those residents from “diverse backgrounds” are living in America. If anything the policy should be that there is a ban on flying any flag that is not the American Flag.

If you are living in America as a guest for a limited period of time and will not be nor do you have the desire to become a citizen then there is no offending you because this is OUR country and OUR flag. You don’t like it……don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out of the country!

If you are a person living in America who is in the process of or who intends to become a citizen then there is no offending you either…the American Flag will take precedence over any flag from the country you are renouncing so that you can become an American.

Oath of Allegiance for Naturalized Citizens:
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God

See, no one is offended since they have pledged an oath to America.  The American Flag is their flag.

“For more than 200 years, the American flag has been the symbol of our nation's strength and unity. It's been a source of pride and inspiration for millions of citizens. And the American Flag has been a prominent icon in our national history.” (http://www.usa-flag-site.org/history.shtml)

My fellow Americans we are being devalued. The foundation upon which this country was built is being eroded beneath our very feet.  What are we going to do about it?? Are we going to allow this to happen?  Did every solider who has died defending America, die in vain?

As an American, I am highly offended that I am not allowed to fly the American flag..so there, they've just offended someone.

FLY your Flags America!!! Stand Tall, Stand Proud.

Important messg about the background photo

That is a real picture taken by a dear friend, Tammi, as we were driving down the road - I was driving, she was snapping pictures of the "sun" and "blue sky"....she comes from further north than me and was so thrilled to see the sun and feel warmth.
We call this picture "Angel Wing" because it looks like a wing...really it does!
Wanted to give credit where credit is due.

Another comment about the photos in this blog...if they aren't mine I'll give credit to the photographer....99.99% of the time if it isn't mine, it belongs to a friend.

Coming home to dogs...

There is just something wonderful about coming home to a dog or dogs, I mean really, who is ever that excited to see you... EVERY time you walk through the door? Definitely not the cat!

After a long day of doing what I do, coming home to my dogs breathes a breath of joy back into my soul and it is again filled with all things light and good.

Coming home to a cat....something different entirely....

Scenerio 1 - Dogs:  Open door, see dogs, dogs bark excitedly, run to you, jump up to give you a kiss (or 10) get all excited barking and racing around the house, playing with their doggie siblings, running back to you for kisses and wooowooo's (in the case of my littlest dog) of delight.  Ahhh, I smile, so glad I have my dogs

Scenerio 2 - Cats: Open door, quiet, walk in looking for Mr. Kitty....dead silence...."heeelllooooo", all quiet except for the sound of your feet walking across the floor...humm, ahh, found cat curled up on the bed, sound asleep.  Go to kitty and say HI KEE KEE (my nickname for my kitty), cat opens eyes, yawns, closes eyes....defeated I walk away.
Alternate ending: cat wakes up, sees you are home, sashays past with a look of disgust because you are late, goes to foodie bowl, sits down, looks at it, looks at you and lets out a LOUD meow demanding dinner.....dog runs up, pokes kitty in the back side with his nose, kittie flies 10 ft in the air making a noise only a kitty can make, lands, dog bolts (smart dog), cat darts over to your ankle and bites for blood, races off back to food bowl and looks at you like you are the demons spawn....

Gotta love them dogs!
