Thinking of your life in terms of Death

Disturbing title?

In recent times I have been faced with the death of loved ones and friends. It has made me start thinking about my life in terms of my death, meaning, how will I be remembered after my death and how does that compare to how I want to be remembered? Am I living my life so that when I die I will be remembered in the way I hope to be or will the reality be shockingly different? I suppose it depends on who you ask.

The view from my lens; I see myself as multifaceted.

Some people will say that I was very kind, giving, understanding and a true friend to the core.

Some will say I had crazy political ideas and had it all wrong, but that I would defend my position to the end. I held fast in my political beliefs whether everyone agreed with me or not.

Some will say I was funny. Some will say I was not.

Everyone will say, “She loved her family and her dogs!” Good LORD please don’t let her start on her dogs! She will talk your ear off. I do have a real big heart when it comes to the furry faces. I readily admit that, proudly so.

In my professional world some might say I was tough, some might say I was smart. There are some that would say I was easy to talk to and others who could disagree.

Is the real question is it what I see that matters or what others see? Since I will be dead, my opinion on the matter will be moot so in this instance it is absolutely the opinion of others that count. Which is opposite of how I try to live my life. I don’t much care what others think, in life, but in death it is a completely different ball game.

How do I want to be remembered? That can be a loaded question. Some might have a simple answer, others will have shocking answers. Mine is multifaceted.

Professionally I would like to be remembered as someone who was not afraid to push back when necessary, stand down and be silent or stand up and be heard. I would like for people to say that even though it wasn’t always easy, I always did my best to make sure I did the right thing; even if I disagreed with it.

I would like to be known as someone who knew her stuff, someone you could count on to get the job done and done right. I would like to be remembered as being a good listener as well as a speaker.

In my personal world I would like people to remember me as a kind and loving person who could be a pain in the backside at times. < insert smile >

I would like to be known for my love of animals and the small efforts I made to help them. I would like to be known as someone who was a great doggie mom who adored her fur kids.

I think that most importantly I would like to be remembered as someone who enriched the lives of everyone she met. Who left people better off that I found them and was a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt my family could be proud of, that I loved and was loved deeply.

I think I have some work to do before I die.

Saying Good Bye.

On Saturday, October 20, 2012 I had to make the hardest decision any pet parent has to make. I had to set my big boy, Jiminy, free from this world. My heart is sad, but my mind knows it was the right thing for him….probably a bit late in making the call, but sometimes we as humans are selfish. I was selfish. I was not able to set him free until he put it in my face that, “hey mom, I’m ready to go. Please release me!”

I have two other, younger, pups that are missing him terribly.
          Zinnia
Zephyr
Even the cat, who only had one true dog love, misses our Jiminy. The sad faces of my Zinnia and Zephyr break my heart. The only thing that brings them joy is when I say “lets go for a walkie!” It is then that they loose their minds and I get the joy of seeing happy dogs race around the house, yipping and barking in excitement. We’ve been taking a lot of walks.

My sweet sweet Jiminy was very loved and the outpouring of support we have received is amazing. It has renewed my faith in humanity.

I cry for me, not for him. He is free.

My heart is heavy with sadness, not for him. He is free.

Rest in Peace my beloved boy. You done good.

Until we meet again,

Momma

                                                       JIMINY

                                         I will LOVE YOU forever

A recap of Obama... may God Help us.

1. Immigration:
a. Obama said he did not have the power to grant amnesty
b. Obama gives amnesty
c. Supreme Court blocks states from upholding Federal Law when the Feds are not.
d. Obama tells Arizona they will not respond to them for people who have been caught being here illegally – unless of course they have committed a felony (refusal to uphold Federal Law)
 e. Zero action against Sanctuary Cities – Violating Federal Law

2. Obama Care
a. Obama said it wasn’t a tax
b. Obama said it was a tax
c. Obama said we could keep our current policy
d. Because of Obama Care, private insurance providers are dropping out (CBO estimates that 4 million Americans will lose their employer-sponsored health plans by 2016)
e. Obama said it would reduce the deficit
f. It will cost $1.76 trillion over a decade, rather than the $940 billion forecast when it was signed into law.
g. Obama is forcing religious groups to pay for contraceptives – against their beliefs.

3. Executive Privilege
a. Defined:
Executive Privilege b. n. a claim by the President or another high official
of the executive branch that he/she need not answer a request (including
a subpoena issued by a court or Congress) for confidential government
or personal communications, on the ground that such revelations would
hamper effective governmental operations and decision-making. The
rationale is that such a demand would violate the principle of separation
of powers among the executive, legislative and judicial branches. If there
is a potential criminal charge, executive privilege will be denied, as
Richard Nixon discovered when he attempted to use executive privilege
to deny Congress, the courts and the Department of Justice access to
tapes and documents in the Watergate scandal (1973-1974). http://www.legal-explanations.com/definitions/executive-privilege.htm

c. Fast and Furious: Holder LIED to Congress to the House Oversight committee on at least 2 occasions
d. Obama issued Executive Privilege to conceal the documents that the HOC wanted in relation to Holders lies

On a side note: a Florida court allowed Florida to do a voter purge to remove people who should not be on them. The DOJ sued trying to block that from happening. The Dept. of Homeland Security refused to let Florida check its immigration banks (SAVE) to verify the status of immigrants who did not or could not verify their legal status. DHS has violated Federal Law: DHS shall respond to an inquiry by a State… government agency… seeking to verify or ascertain the citizenship or immigration status of any individual within the jurisdiction of the agency for any purpose authorized by law, by providing the requested verification or status information.” 76 Fed. Reg. 58525, 58527 (Sept. 21, 2011); 7 U.S.C. 1373(d).

This is a small summary of recent events. The list could be much longer, but it is too depressing to go back that far. We are facing times in this country that I never thought I’d see. WE the PEOPLE must stand up and fight for our constitutional rights, demand that our government FOLLOW and ABIDE by the constitution. Specifically, we need to demand the President be held accountable for his dirty tricks by circumventing the Constitution. Remember the deception and flat out lies told by this President come election day in November. This is not a socialist country, but it is looking like one more and more under this president.

Mark my words – Obama will at least “think” if not try to find a way so that he can circumvent the election process so that he can remain in power. Sounds extreme, radical?  What's extreme and radical is what this President is doing and has done.

I truly fear for this country. **With the ruling by the Supreme Court on “ObamaCare” made public this morning; I fear more than ever for this country. We are not China, we are not East Germany we are not Yugoslavia. We are the United State of America. We believe in Freedom and Liberty - at least we used to.

Unfortunately, Obama is winning at fundamentally changing this country. We must stop this on Election Day by exercising our RIGHT to VOTE!!!! ** while we still have it.

Donations still needed....please

My boy Jiminy still needs funds to do the Stem Cell Therapy to give him back his mobility and out of pain.
This is a great new avenue for dogs who suffer from painful joints and hip issues. It can also help a host of other issues.
Jiminy is a beautiful big boy who saved my soul and I would do anything to save him from the daily pain he endures. He's on all the good stuff and pain medication, but at a certain point that doesn't help much any more. He's healthy and so worth the effort of doing this. If you could meet him; you would love him - he insists on it.
As big as he is, most people are not afraid of him. Why? Because he simply emits waves of love and gentleness to all who meet him. He's not scary at all, but a loving guy who loves to make new friends as often as possible. People AND Canine. His favorit is little dogs, but he does well with big dogs too.
If you can't help financially, please share his chipin page. You never know who is out there that can pitch in a little. Every penny helps and every penny is deeply appreciated.

This is Jiminy with his sister Zinnia... she's laughing at him about something and he is not amused.

Here he is posing for a picture for our 1st Christmas in our new home.

This demonstrates how big Jiminy is... He loved laying on the couch but shortly after this picture was taken, he was no longer able to climb up on to the couch (or the bed). I want to give that back to him.
Here is his chipin link -

I'm hoping to get to at least 75% by next week (Jan 2, 2012) What a gift it will be for Jiminy to run and play, get up on the couch and snuggle on the bed again.
Thank you VERY much.
